DO YOU KNOW THAT ON JUNE 8-9 THERE WILL BE A VOTE ON FIVE VERY IMPORTANT QUESTIONS?
You can find the full texts of the questions at the bottom of the page. Here are the summaries.
This is the one about citizenship rights:
MORE RIGHTS FOR PEOPLE WHO LIVE, STUDY, WORK, AND PAY TAXES IN ITALY (Question 5)
Today, anyone who wants to apply for Italian citizenship must have lived continuously and formally in Italy for at least 10 years. This excludes 2.5 million people from voting, from applying for public sector jobs, and from moving freely across Europe.
TO REPEAL THIS LAW AND REDUCE THE REQUIREMENT FROM 10 TO 5 YEARS, ON JUNE 8-9 VOTE SÌ!
Then there are 4 about workers' rights. You can vote for all five or only for the ones you choose.
STOP UNFAIR DISMISSALS (Question 1)
In companies with more than 15 employees, workers hired after March 7, 2015 cannot get their job back even if their dismissal is ruled unlawful. This affects more than 3.5 million workers.
TO REPEAL THIS RULE, VOTE SÌ ON JUNE 8–9 ON JUNE 8-9 VOTE SÌ!
MORE PROTECTION FOR WORKERS IN SMALL COMPANIES (Question 2)
Today, workers in companies with fewer than 16 employees can receive at most six months' compensation if they are unfairly dismissed. This situation keeps over 3.7 million workers in a state of vulnerability.
TO REPEAL THIS RULE AND INCREASE COMPENSATION BASED ON THE COMPANY'S ECONOMIC CAPACITY, FAMILY RESPONSIBILITIES, AND THE WORKER'S AGE, ON JUNE 8-9 VOTE SÌ!
REDUCE JOB INSECURITY (Question 3)
Currently, companies can hire workers on fixed-term contracts—up to 12 months—without providing any justification. This creates millions of precarious jobs, leaving workers in uncertainty and unable to access rental or mortgage contracts.
TO REPEAL THIS RULE AND RESTORE THE REQUIREMENT TO PROVIDE A VALID REASON FOR FIXED-TERM CONTRACTS, ON JUNE 8-9 VOTE SÌ!
MORE WORKPLACE SAFETY (Question 4)
Today, a company that outsources work is not responsible for accidents suffered by workers hired by subcontractors. This allows companies to cut costs at the expense of workers' safety.
TO REPEAL THIS RULE AND EXTEND RESPONSIBILITY TO THE MAIN CONTRACTING COMPANY, ON JUNE 8-9 VOTE SÌ!
